To prevent clogging, an agitator is installed in the inlet funnel to handle chaff and straw too small to pass through the grid. The inlet funnel can also be fitted with magnets to protect the rollers by removing any small metal pieces accidentally mixed with the grain.
Key components, including the inlet funnel, protection screen, and belt guard, are made from fiber-reinforced composite—a durable material also used in highly stressed products such as wind turbines, ships, aircraft, and bridges.
